Tourist Schengen Visa

A Tourist Schengen Visa allows third-country nationals to travel or visit Europe for up to 90 days within six months for leisure.

Foreign citizens willing to travel to Europe for tourism purposes may be required to apply for a short-term tourist visa under the “tourist” specification.

Documents required for Schengen Visa

Visa Application Form must be comprehensive, filled with all the correct information, printed, and signed with the utmost care.

  • Two recent photos within the last three months were taken in compliance with the Schengen visa photo criteria.
  • A valid passport It must not be older than ten years, with at least three months remaining beyond your planned stay in Schengen, and have at least two blank pages to be able to affix the visa sticker.

  • Proof of accommodation This could be a hotel/hostel(s) booking, with their name, complete address, phone, and email, for the entire time you will be in the Schengen area.
  • Travel organizer letter If you will be traveling with a travel agency.
  • Proof of financial means Proof of sufficient funds to support yourself throughout your stay in the Schengen area. This could be a bank account statement.
  • Sponsorship Letter When another person will be financially supporting your trip to the Schengen Zone. It is also sometimes known as an Affidavit of Support

The following evidence is required if you are employed

If You Are Self-employed

  • Business License
  • Bank Statement Of The Latest 6 Months
  • Income Tax Return

In The Event A Student : Has A Student Record, And Has Written Permission

  • Travel Itinerary: A detailed description of your trip to Europe, including your purpose of travel, the places you will visit in Europe, the time frame, and all of your data.
  • For Minors : Either proof of parental relationship (birth certificate, proof of adoption, custody decree) OR parents’ passport copies/death certificate of parent For Adults: One photo ID and the second form of identification (passport, government-issued photo ID)

Application Process

  • Ensure you qualify for a Tourist Schengen Visa. Due to the variety of Schengen visa types, you must ensure that the visa you need is this one.
  • Determine where you need to apply. Plan the best time to lodge your tourist visa application.
  • Collect the documents required for a Tourist Schengen Visa.
  • Schedule an appointment at the embassy of your destination country. You may have to schedule this appointment online or in person at the embassy/consulate/visa center.
  • Go to the visa interview. Pay the required tourist visa fee.
  • Wait for an answer on your visa application.

Duration For Receiving The Schengen Visa

It is imperative to apply for a Schengen Tourist Visa at least two weeks before the planned trip. The Embassy Consulate will then respond in 10 working days. Depending on the circumstances, there may be a time frame of up to two months for anything out of the ordinary.

Validity Of Schengen Visa

A tourist visa is used for visits to a country in no more than 90 days. It is recommended to fill out the multiple entry forms if you are planning an extensive trip. Some Things That Require Different Categories Of Visas And Cannot Be Done While On A Visitor Visa

  • Study and Employment cannot be done.
  • Professional performances, or any professional performances in front of a paying audience.
  • Work as a foreign journalist, in radio, film, or other media.
